To enhance security in the NESA region by building sustained, mutually beneficial relationships; fostering regional cooperation on security issues; and promoting effective communications and strategic capacity through free and candid interaction in an academic environment.
The SSN achieves this vision and expands regional security dialogue and cooperation by:
• Providing opportunities for frank, off-the record discussion among national security professionals and academics across the region;
• Developing and disseminating collaborative research, analyses, and publications throughout the region;
• Strengthening civil society by evolving regional strategic studies institutions to meet new security challenges, to include nontraditional and transnational issues; and
• Broadening the foundations of official and unofficial regional defense relationships and encouraging candid discussion of regional and transnational security threats.
